Moziah Bridges: Mo’s Bows

In 2011, at just nine years old, Moziah Bridges launched a company that began at his grandmother’s kitchen table in Memphis and has since grown into an internationally recognized fashion brand. Known as Mo’s Bows, the company started with a simple need; Moziah wanted a bow tie that reflected his colorful personality, but couldn’t find anything in stores. With the help of his grandmother, he learned how to sew, creating ties that quickly drew a lot of attention. Moziah’s mission is to help people look and feel stylish and confident through your apparel.

Moziah turned a small, everyday problem into something remarkable. His idea is great because it’s simple yet original, by taking the classic bow tie and making it fun, colorful, and modern. Moziah’s vision has landed Mo’s Bows on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Shark Tank, and many other things. He has also been named to Time’s “30 Most Influential Teens” and Fortune’s “18 Under 18” that showcases some of the country’s most innovative teens.

Moziah demonstrates traits every entrepreneur should use: creativity, persistence, leadership, and confidence. A few years after he launched his company he pitched on Shark Tank at age eleven and later signed a partnership with the NBA to make ties for all thirty nba teams. Moziah has now sold around $700,000 worth of ties and accessories through stores like Bloomingdale, Neiman Marcus, and Cole Haan.

Moziah inspires people because he proves that age is not a barrier to success in anything. His story pushes people and young entrepreneurs to take their ideas seriously, no matter how small they may seem. The principles I take from Mo’s journey are clear, start small but dream big and use entrepreneurship as a way to make a positive impact on the world.

This is such a cute idea and how it started is so wholesome. He can really be an inspiration to Gen Z that we can take something simple that we think about and create it into a thriving business.
