Ballboyz

Carson Mathews is a 25 year old ex professional baseball player who has made big splashes in the entrepreneurship world with his new face soap to prevent athletes from getting acne. Matthews loved sports his entire life , and as he got older and especially during his teen years he started to deal with training induced acne. As he put it he tried every possible brand and trick to reduce his acne he couldn’t seem to find anything that worked. That all changed however when he started playing professional baseball. As he kept on experimenting with new ideas and products he finally stumbled upon his idea. He realized that activated charcoal works great for helping reduce and prevent acne caused by athletics and sweat. After doing even more research he discovered that 78% of athletes dealt with similar acne caused by training. After realizing this and also realizing that he was stuck in the Los Angeles Angels minor league system with no end in sight he retired from baseball to pursue his new business which he calls Ballboyz.Through clever marketing on social media and a huge area for sales his product has sold out multiple times when being sold causing his company to expand and get even larger. He also started teaming up with former teammate and now Red Sox star Jaren Duran to try and take his products to even bigger heights. Why is Mathews’ story so unique? Outside of the fact that Mathews is only 25 years old it’s important to remember that he had a very good chance to still play in the MLB but decided to leave it behind and risk it all on his business, a decision which seems to be paying off for him. What problem is Mathews addressing? As stated before Mathews is helping athletes with their skincare with all natural products. What’s next for Mathews? As I said before between great marketing on social media and now a star athlete promoting his brand Mathews business is only growing and he has made it clear that he plans to expand to more athlete centred hygiene products.

I thought that it was cool how he first used social media to market his business, which paid off since it was so unique.
