Ryan Trahan

Ryan Trahan is an amazing example of young entrepreneurs who put their energy and creativity to great use. Everyone might know him, I know I used to, as the 50 States guy, who travelled to all 50 states with his girlfriend over the summer. But he has done much more than this. He began as a YouTuber, making fun and creative content that resonated with so many young people. Ryan officially started his career on YouTube 2013 and uploaded his first videos, which were primarily focused on track and field training and vlogs. He began gaining broader attention and growing his audience around 2017-2018 when he shifted to more creative and comedic content. Choosing content creation over his running career, Ryan dropped out of college to pursue his dream. Yet Ryan did not stop at just entertainment in YouTube; he started many other business ventures too. His earliest business venture is the Neptune Bottle. Founded in 2016 during his high school years, Neptune Bottle is a reusable water bottle company aimed at reducing single-use plastic waste. Ryan gained lots of profit from this company, earning $50,000 in the first year, but he still wanted to do more. His next business venture Howdy Howdy, a clothing line offering a range of apparel including t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. Through his apparel, he wanted to represent his authentic Texas personality, making it an artistic expression of his YouTube channel. One of his most famous business ventures is the candy company he founded, Joyride Sweets. In creating these sweets, he wanted to make a candy focused on being low-sugar, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly. This company is still prevalent and successful, selling candy at popular retailers like Target and Whole Foods.
The most valiant entrepreneurship ventures he has done has been his charity work. His two most famous charity ventures are his Penny Challenge Series and his 50 States in 50 Days Fundraiser. Through his YouTube channel and these videos, Ryan Trahan promoted raising lots of money to important causes like Feeding America, Water.org, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. These videos made Ryan even more loved and grew his audience even more. People watch Ryan Trahan for his fun-loving energy and charismatic story-telling. Combine this with the charity work he does and you get why he is so successful.
For me and most young people, these challenges demonstrate his entrepreneurial spirit and his genuine desire to make a positive impact for everyone. By combining entertainment with entrepreneurship, Ryan has set a powerful example of how young entrepreneurs can use their platforms for good. His videos and attitude continue to inspire everyone who watches to give back and create meaningful change in the world. To me, Ryan is not only an entrepreneur, but also a servant to all who are in need. And that is his greatest appeal: he serves not for his own good, but for theirs.

Reusable water bottles are definitely a need in the world today. I find it inspiring that he wanted to push his limits and see how much he can accomplish by coming up with such creative ideas. It’s good that a young man like Ryan had such a positive impact on so many people.
I started watching his videos more recently, and it’s really interesting to see all the ventures and products he’s worked on over the years. I mean, being a youtuber is in and of itself somewhat of an entrepreneurial venture, but watching a youtuber use his channel as a platform to bootstrap his ideas is really cool. There are a lot of potential entrepreneurs who never actually get their products and/or concepts into the light, because they’re scared to fail; however, as seen by his various ventures, perseverance tends to pay off. A “perfect” idea may very well flop, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop going; it means you have to be willing to learn.
His story is especially inspiring because his videos are popular to people of all ages. He did an amazing job of creating a huge target market. I like how unique his videos are too, and how they make him stand out among others.
Ryan Trahan is an awesome example of a Gen Z entrepreneur. Not only is what he does very cool conceptually, whether it be the crazy YouTube videos, the candy, the water bottles, and the many other things he does, they are extremely successful! He really embodies the entrepreneur, and even with his success, he is doing it the right way. With his YouTube channel, for example, he is creating wholesome content for the whole family to enjoy. He even incorporates some entrepreneurial ides like the Penny Challenge, which through creativity, engagement, and perseverance, he inspires the next generation of young entrepreneurs.
