Alina Morse – Zolli Candy

At just seven years old, Alina Morse saw a need and decided to do something about it. As a young girl she loved coming up with new ideas for her own products. One of her earliest ideas was to make a tube that could have peanut butter and jelly distributed at the same time, so that even if parents didn’t have time to pack their child’s lunch the kid could make their own sandwich at lunchtime with this tube. And another among these ideas was her plan to create lollipops that were healthier for children to eat. So, she created her company “Zollipops.” This company got started from Morse wanting to create a healthier option for candy that parents could feel good about giving their children.
The lollipops she created were made with Stevia a sugar alternative that make for a healthier option and less risk of cavities. When she was just about nine years old, she landed a deal with Whole Foods who loved her idea and began selling her lollipops in store. Not long after she began shipping on Amazon and landed in Kroger, which was a big deal for her company. She was featured on the “Steve Harvey Show” and has been written about in the “Smithsonian Magazine” and “Entrepreneurship Magazine.” She has since expanded her business beyond lollipops into many different types of sugar-reduced candy. Morse is currently twenty years old and still managing her business.

I love how even as a young girl she still saw a need and decided to capitalize on it. We should all learn from her.
