Mo’s bows
Moziah Bridges is a 23-year-old entrepreneur from my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, whose story has always inspired me. Growing up in Memphis, Moziah noticed that there weren’t many stylish or flattering bow ties available for young boys like him. Instead of settling for what was on the market, he decided to take matters into his own hands. At just 9 years old, with the help of his grandmother who taught him how to sew, Moziah began creating his own bow ties. What started as a fun hobby quickly turned into something much bigger. Soon after, he founded his company, Mo’s Bows, which has since grown into an internationally recognized brand. His designs have been featured on major television networks and worn by celebrities, proving that creativity and determination can go a long way, even at a young age. What I find most inspiring about Moziah’s journey is how he saw a gap in the market and had the courage to fill it. He didn’t wait until he was older or had more experience, he simply believed in his vision and took that first step toward making it a reality. Moziah’s story motivates me to take action on my own ideas rather than waiting for the “perfect” moment. If a 9-year-old from my own community could build a successful business from scratch, then there’s no reason I can’t pursue my goals with the same confidence and creativity. His example reminds me that age, background, or experience don’t define success, passion, persistence, and a willingness to start do.

This is a great story highlighting how passion and problem can marry to drive innovation and entrepreneurship. For Moziah, his passion for bows combined with the hole in the market sparked an awesome company that provides all kinds of people with fashionable flare. It is also remarkable that a 9-year-old can start something like this. It is truly inspiring to young people everywhere, that we can accomplish great things.
