Scott Hiett- Gamer Platform Edge
Scott Hiett is a young entrepreneur who started computer programming at the young age of 15 years old. He was always interested in games and computers and was very active amongst the world of Esports, which is professional online gaming. In 2019, Scott was commentating on an Esports match, when he met his fellow broadcaster, Adam Whyte. Scott and Adam got to talking with each other about some of the issues surrounding payment in the world of Esports. Gamers and influencers were having issues collecting prize money after competing as well as receiving their payment for promoting products over their streams. This is where Adam, and a then 17-year-old Scott hatched their idea for their company Edge.
Edge is a digital solutions platform that gets rid of the human error in the Esports payment system. It works as a middleman between the people trying to pay the gamers, and the gamers themselves. It reduces the confusion and allows gamers to request their funds, and receive compensation quickly with ease. Scott Hiett worked on the programming himself as a teenager, using his computer programming skills he had acquired at a younger age. Edge has joined the Amazon Web Services platform for higher speeds and efficiency and is growing as a platform in the Esports world. Recently, Edge just secured 1.5 million dollars in funding, launching the business into success.
The young entrepreneur Scott Hiett is inspiring primarily because he found an issue that was relevant to his interests in life, and he used his technical skills to solve this problem, benefit society, and help him generate a profit and a living for himself at such a young age. His innovation through programming made his product highly desirable and grew his business into a virtual gaming world success.

This is extremely impressive to think of a service like this at his age. I wonder how many streamers use this or would use this service since i have not heard it being a problem before although i can definitely see this being a problem knowing how big companies can be with small creators and taking advantage of them since they can and get away with it since small creators are desperate often times.
I love how he found a problem in the thing that he loves and wanted to make others’ lives easier.
