Zolli Candy: Alina Morse

At the young age of just 7, Alina Morse had a thought that would change her life. While at the bank with her Dad  she was offered a lollipop. Growing up, her parents had always told her candy was bad for your teeth, so she asked why can’t there be candy healthy and good for your teeth. That simple question led to the start of Zolli Candy, a company that focuses on creating sweet treats that actually protect your teeth instead of hurting them.

With the help of her father, Alina experimented with different recipes until they got a mix that worked. In 2014, she launched her first product the Zollipops, these healthier alternatives were made sugar-free with natural sweeteners. The name Zolli Candy actually came from Alina’s younger sister trying to pronounce one of the ingredients. What started as a small idea then into family fun, that eventually turned into a legitimate profiting business.

Today Zolli Candy has expanded from just lollipops, their products include Zolli Drops, Zaffi Taffy, Zolli Caramelz, and of course Zolli Pops. These products are now sold in big stores such as Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Alina also used Zolli Candy to start the Million Smiles Initiative, a program that donates candy and educates children across the nation on healthy teeth and dental hygiene. Alina explains that smiles are amazing and she wants to save them by fighting child tooth decay.

Alina is truly inspiring, she took her curiosity and turned it into real innovation. She turned her success into generosity, Alina shows us that entrepreneurship isn’t just about profit, it is about creating products that have an impact and make a difference.

I love how she started Zolli Candy and used its success to start another company with a healthful and educational purpose. Also, I think both parents and children alike would be drawn to this product. For the parents, it has health benefits. For the kids, its made by someone just like them and its approved by kids too!
