Rachel Zeitz

Rachel Zeitz is a girl who has played lacrosse for most of her life, but there was a problem she noticed throughout her sport the equipment was low quality. At the age of 13, she decided to take matters into her own hands and founded Gladiator Lacrosse. She designs durable, high quality lacrosse equipment that is reasonably priced and athlete approved. The question I was asking, though, was how she made such a successful brand in such a competitive industry. It was because, at just 13 years old, she had an idea that got her featured on Shark Tank. This gave her the chance to present her company to multiple very wealthy and successful businesspeople who could not only give her valuable advice but also offer potential financial resources. Although she didn’t receive an offer from any of the Sharks, they were all very impressed with her idea. Today, she is very successful and making millions. I think this is so inspiring, and I can take a lot away from her story. So often, when people have a good idea, it just stays an idea. But here is a young woman who turned her idea into reality. Even after being turned down by some very big names, she didn’t quit. Instead, she took their constructive criticism, implemented it, and continued to grow. From her story, we can learn that even if people say your idea is too hard or unrealistic, if you stay determined and don’t take no for an answer, you might end up being very successful in the world.

One of the things I really liked that you pointed out was that many people have good ideas, yet they just keep it an idea. When Rachel had her idea, she went to work turning her dream into a reality, even when that meant getting rejected by some very successful and intimidating people. Taking constructive criticism and applying it is an important thing that I think not only applies to business but also everyday life. Great research and good job.

I like how she took one of her frustrations, did something about it, and was able to make a business out of it.
