Emma Mae McDaniel // Compelled Ministries

Emma Mae McDaniel (Jenkins) has continued to pour into women of all ethnicities, ages and denominations for over a decade; the Lord continues to bless her ministry in her unique “business” model through the creation of online resources and community.

The ministry did not start here, however, it began back in high school when Emma began facing criticism and persecution for her “Jesus joy” that created seeds of doubt in her faith journey with God. Her pain led to a passion for meeting girls “in the middle,” like herself. During college, she began to become pressed with the desire to write a book of spiritual encouragement and wisdom for women like herself, from all walks of life. The joy she was given was something she wanted to use to bless others and encourage them to live compelled in their walks of faith. She had no idea how far this dream would expand, but she obeyed the voice of the Lord and He has blessed her ministry ever since. An author of three books, host of the Compelled Podcast and founder of Compelled Ministries, Emma’s products have reached both unreachable people and places of the world… to the ends of the earth.

Her ministry is driven by donations, that is, it is dependent purely on people’s goodness of their hearts and God’s nudge. People have the opportunity to become a patron in the 5:14 club, a place of inspiration and encouragement for women online, from the comfort of homes or even the uncomfortable reaches of the world. Her business is unique in that it is completely people-based! Support comes from donors, active participants, and buyers of her products. Emma’s business reminds me that missions often become ministries, and ministries can turn into opportunities for healthy profit.

I love your take on missions becoming ministries! I also love how Emma was obedient to God’s calling on her life. God always has purpose for our pain!
