ESAI – Julia Dixon

Gen Z entrepreneur Julia Dixon, founder of ESAI, has been changing the admissions advising game with her fairly priced online service. Julia took notice of the flaws in the admission process because she worked in that system. Only a few students could afford the 300 dollar per hour sessions and advisors were hard to come by. “The average high school has 400 students per guidance counselor,” Dixon said while pitching her company.

Her solution to this problem was an admissions assisting AI tool that helps in every step of the competitive landscape. ESAI has helped over 100,000 students in securing a spot at their ideal school. The platform first identifies the best programs for budget, skills, goals, and interests. Then it aids in creating impactful essays while also recognizing the most useful financial resources.

ESAI doesn’t replace the admissions journey. It equips students to present their authentic story and discover programs that fit. Dixon has used her platform to support under-resourced students and even provides a free blog filled with admissions advice. ESAI’s mission: “helping people find clarity, confidence, and courage as they enter their next chapter.” Students can now walk forward into that new chapter at the relatively low price of 250 dollars per year. Put simply, with the ESAI tool, students in the admission process can now pay less for an unlimited year of assistance than they would for one hour of traditional advising.

This industry changing tool brought Julia many investors including Mark Cuban from Shark Tank. Since receiving early investments ESAI has saved families over 140 million in advising costs while 93 percent of customers were accepted into their dream school. ESAI has transformed a notoriously stressful and difficult process at a low price and high success rate. Julia Dixon believes every student has a story worth telling and her innovation is helping them use that story to find the right admissions experience.

This is a great idea. I found it interesting how she was able to include AI in her company to help assist, showing that AI can be very helpful.

Julia’s identification of the problem and execution to solve it is truly something inspiring. She was not able to use new technology such as AI and use it to aid her in her product ESAI.
