Emil Barr – Flashpass

Emil Barr is a 22 year old entrepreneur who started the company called Flashpass. He immigrated from Russia when he was about 3 years old. He went to Miami University and studied economics and international business. During his freshman year there he started a successful business called Step Up Social. This business helped businesses expand their social media marketing. This company went on to win the Launch It: Cincy Pitch Competition. This launched its popularity, and by 2023 it had made $550,000 in revenue. In 2022, Emil started another successful company called Flashpass. He was inspired to make this company to help people gain skills in operating new technology. Its main purpose was for education and for people to get certifications within the technology field. Within the first year and a half of Flashpass being established, it had already produced $5 million in revenue. It is also kept more affordable because the company mainly works with larger institutions, so that people do not have to pay out of pocket. Another perk to this company is that it limits the threat of AI taking over people’s jobs. Flashpass teaches employees new technology related skills, while still integrating the new technology into many businesses.

Emil Barr is an influential Gen-Z Entrepreneur because not only did he build extremely successful businesses at such a young age, but he also integrated new ways of technological business that appeals to Gen-Z specifically. By starting Step Up Social, based on social media marketing, he appealed to the new age of being able to expand businesses on social media. By starting Flashpass, he helped many people who struggle with new technology and AI to find ways to incorporate it in order to elevate their businesses. Overall, Emil Barr did an excellent job at starting influential businesses at a young age while still making them successful.
