R.J. Duarte, GreenWorx Landscaping
R.J. Duarte was a young kid that had a common goal of a lot of other kids, to make some side hustle money. When R.J. was just 8 years old, he started doing lawncare around his neighborhood. Each summer his income would double and sometimes triple. Once he made it to high school, he hired one of his friends to work with him so they could do more lawns. After a few years his friend left for college, but R.J. decided that college wasn’t for him. R.J. dropped his small clients and decided to go big by branding himself as a premium landscaping and maintenance company. With this move he said, “It’s higher margins for more risk”. It seems R.J.’s hunch of going big was right because now he has 12-15 employees of other high school kids and has revenue upwards of $750,000. R.J., now 20, turned a simple side hustle into a successful business.

I really enjoyed reading about this because this is what i would like to do as a profession one day. I thought it was so cool how early he started because what that tells me is that he had a heart for entrepreneurship and that is what you have to have to be successful.
This is a super encouraging story. I am impressed by the way R.J. had faith in his company and took such a major risk. I can see his ambition in the fact that he hired a team of coworkers in high school- he sounds like a natural leader. Nice post!
