Iddris Sandu

Iddris Sandu was born on May 7, 1997, in Accra, Ghana. His family moved to the United States when he was about three years old, and he grew up mainly in Los Angeles. At the young age of ten, Iddris began learning how to code, which eventually led him to earn an internship with Google. This opportunity exposed him to the deeper world of technology and helped him understand the ins and outs of how digital systems work. It allowed him to grow in skill and knowledge, especially because he had always been fascinated by technology and how it could be used to solve real problems.

Fast forward to high school, Iddris created an app that acted as a navigation system for students, allowing them to find their way around campus more easily. This project gained attention and demonstrated both his creativity and his ability to identify needs in the world around him. Despite receiving two admission offers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of the most prestigious tech schools in the world, he chose a different path. Instead of following the traditional academic route, he decided to continue pursuing internships, consulting work, and entrepreneurship. He believed that real-world experience would give him a more practical and hands-on understanding of the tech industry.

I think something we can learn from this young man is that experience shapes growth. Iddris shows us that stepping into opportunities, learning by doing, and being willing to explore unfamiliar paths can help us become the best version of ourselves. His journey teaches that passion, curiosity, and commitment to learning can open doors that education alone cannot. Ultimately, he inspires us to pursue our goals boldly and trust that every experience successful or not moves us closer to our full potential.
