Millie Bobby Brown – Florence by Mills
At just fifteen years old, Millie Bobby Brown (known for her star role as Eleven in the Duffer Brother’s Stranger Things) launched her own skincare and beauty line promoting self-love and self-care for other girls in her generation.

The creation of Florence by Mills came from Millie’s perspective as a member of Generation Z. As a young actress used to wearing heavy makeup looks, she felt there was a gap in the market for skincare and beauty appealing to younger generations. In an interview with Katie Inter from People.com, Millie was quoted as saying “Lightweight makeup is very important…You don’t want to cover up your beauty. You want to add to it. I think that’s what we were missing.”

Millie Bobby Brown was inspiring and impacting her generation before launching her skincare and beauty brand. At just 14 years old, she was named a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund). She planned to use her platform as an actress and celebrity to hear young people’s stories and speak out for them. A year later, she launched her Vegan, clean, cruelty-free skincare and beauty platform as a way to help her generation feel beautiful. In her interview with Katie Inter, Millie finished off by saying, “”Beauty and skincare is always evolving, and Florence is going to grow with [it], and a lot of other people like me…It’s going to create a family. I’m really excited for Generation Z to evolve, and for my brand to evolve with it.”
Millie Bobby Brown and her company has done just that! As she has grown, so has the line. Florence by Mills an established company, and has done collabs with groups such as Kuerig coffee, Delsey Paris, and more. In 2024, Bobby Brown added on Florence by Mills Fashion, a clothing line that has gained popularity for the company. Florence by Mills has experienced a 7x growth in revenue since 2020. In the second half of 2022, they experienced a 100% year-over-year sales growth. 2023, the company reported a 40% increase in direct-to-consumer and brick-and-mortar sales. (this is likely due to the content shift the company did to TikTok sales, which increased TikTok views by almost 800%).

Most importantly, Bobby Brown has stayed true to her social message. Millie Bobby Brown has received a lot of backlash and criticism in different phases of her life from a very young age; and she has pivoted her experiences by promoting her brand as one that teaches people to love themselves, and feel beautiful. From the age of 15 to today, all of Millie Bobby Brown’s entrepreneurial efforts show the steps she has intentionally taken in order to make her generation feel loved and beautiful.
