Carson Kropfl: Locker Board
In 2021, at just 11 years old, Carson Kropfl came up with the idea of Locker Board. He loved skateboarding, but the regular boards were too big to fit in his school locker, and his teachers would take them away. Instead of giving up skateboarding at school, he decided to make his own board that would fit into his locker or backpack, but still worked like a regular board.

Carson made every Locker Board out of recycled skateboard decks, which was better for the environment. The company mission was not only to make a portable skateboard but also reduce waste. Carson even donates a portion of every sale to ocean conservation groups. Locker Board sells different styles and types such as cruiser boards and trick boards. Even though the boards are small, they still ride smoothly. Carson’s idea became so popular that he went on Shark Tank, where he got an investment from Richard Branson.
Carson’s story is inspiring not only because of his age but how he took a problem and actually found a solution. He used creativity and passion to turn his idea into something real, showing us that young entrepreneurs can make a difference just by paying attention to problems and having the confidence to solve them.

I think it is cool that he found a way to solve a such a universal problem in schools.
This story is so interesting. I really like the way he was able to find an inventive solution to a problem that many people experience. I also like how he was able to find a way to make his business environmentally friendly and safe. I think this business is a great idea and I like the way he is going about it.
What an interesting product. I think this is a great example of finding a problem/pain point within a specific niche. I never would have considered having a skateboard that doesn’t fit in my locker a problem, but I love that he did, saw that others agreed, and created a sustainable product with environmentally conscious results.
Nicely written. I like the article.
This is a great article! I like he was able to use a problem that he was personally affected by. By creating a product that he was able to use as well as create a solution that could be used by other people who were also affected is inspiring.
I wouldn’t have even considered a solution like this. Really cool! I like that he was able to garner so much success from this business venture.
Short, sweet, and to the point. Well done with this article! Learned a lot!
