Josh Richards: From TikTok to Entrepreneur
Josh Richards was born in the year 2002 in Ontario Canada. Josh grew up in one of the most technologically innovative times in human history. From the recent creation of the world wide web and the new introduction of the iPhone, he grew up all around this new tech. Josh, like so many other children from Gen-Z, used internet platforms to try and grow a mass following. He did end up getting extremely popular for his dances and entertaining videos. Josh probably did not realize this then, but this fame would end up dramatically helping him with his future entrepreneurial ventures. Then, in his late teen years, Josh decided that he really should start to make something out of his fame.
This is when Josh started his entrepreneurial journey. His first venture was a social media agency called TalentX Entertainment which would help other creators manage their brands and business opportunities. He was a co-founder of this company and it was ultimately sold to another company in 2021. Another venture of his was a brand of energy drinks called Ani Energy. The goal for this brand was to create healthy alternatives to some of the larger brands on the market. Josh’s brand is still up and running with increasing revenues as of 2024.

Today Josh actively invests in start-up as an angel investor. He mainly focuses on new, Gen-Z run companies and often helps them with initial start-up costs of running their operations. Also, Josh is still active in the social media space, but has made a public image for himself. He is a major advocate of gen-z creators not only being influencers, but owners as well. Josh said that he wants to prove that people his age can make empires, and that is what he has started to do. It is amazing the amount of opportunity that the internet creates.

Josh Richards did what millions of teens want to achieve. He build a dream on which he planned for himself. Inspiration is somewhat hard to come by within gen-z in todays age. However, Josh is an inspiration to teens and young adults who what to become some sort of social media influencer. His story shows that with some dedication, creativity, and a little luck, our goals can be achieved. It also shows that today is the best time to start on any dream or goals of ours. The internet and social media are great tools and should be heavily utilized. Overall, Josh is a perfect example of a gen-z entrepreneur.

I like how instead of letting fame get to his head, Josh Richards saw it as a tool to spread his innovative ideas. Not only does his story prove the necessity of dedication to really get a business going, but the importance of staying relevant and getting on social media even when we don’t like it!
It was cool to see how he used the popularity on social media to kickstart his entrepreneurial career. It shows how much opportunity there really is to better monetize having a social media following.
