Unforsaken Apparel – Carson Young

Carson Young, the founder of Unforsaken Apparel, says that his brand didn’t start with a fancy plan, but “brokenness, a deep faith in God, and a desire to create something meaningful.” In Carson’s story, he talks about a time in his life when everything was going wrong. He had been kicked out of college, lost his home, slept in his car or on friend’s couches. During this difficult time in his life, he felt completely lost and hopeless. However, there was one thing that kept him going: the Lord. Even in silence, the one thing that motivated him to keep going was the Lord and his steadfast love.

Carson had a moment of realization during this time of silence. That was: “Jesus may be quiet, but He is never absent.” Carson says that this truth became the foundation of his life…and eventually his brand! UNFORSAKEN was built from nothing, only by the grace of God! Carson’s brand was built with no outside funding or connections. Cason says his brand was built from “just a calling to remind people that no matter how far they’ve fallen or how dark it gets; God never abandons His people.” A verse that kept him going in the hardest season of his life is 2 Corinthians 4:9 which says, “Persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed.” His brand is rooted in this passage. While this brand was started from nothing, Carson says that he could not have done it without the help of his customers! Everyone who has ever worn a shirt, shared a post, or supported his mission has kept UNFORSAKEN alive. “UNFORSAKEN isn’t just about clothes – it’s about reminding people that they are seen, they are loved, and they are never alone.” Carson has been able to spread the gospel using his tough circumstances, which is a testimony of the Lord’s grace!
