Silas Adekunle: The Tech Wizard

Silas Adekunle is a Nigerian born British entrepreneur that has built some of the most advanced robots of the past decade. From an early age Adekunle has always been infatuated by the idea of building, especially building robots. He was born in Nigeria and eventually moved to the UK, which is where he grew up. He went on to earn a degree in robotics and an Honorary Doctorate in technology from the University of the West of England. Completing college, Adekunle started to create some robots and make businesses out of these robots. Leading to the start of his journey as one of the youngest tech-entrepreneurs.

Adekunle’s first large business success was when he CO-Founded and became the CEO of Reach Robotics. Which was a augmented reality gaming company based out of the UK. This company ended up founding a robot called the MekaMon, a four 4-legged robot that allowed video game animation by using the robot with augmented reality. A super cool concept that ended up receiving 12 million in funding from investors, and had about 65 employees at its peak. Sadly, Reach Robotics shut down due to challenges within the robotics industry. However that did not stop Adekunle from continuing his entrepreneurship journey.

Adekunle is now working with AI and satellite data to create education ecosystems all across Africa. He is hoping to solve or at least gather data about some of Africa’s problems regarding climate issues and environmental predictions. Combining these two goals, Adekunle is looking to make Africa a more safe and technological verse continent. While these goals are grand, it shows that the drive to create and improve something bigger than yourself is so important. Adekunle wants to help Africans in anyway he can and using his unique talents will help him achieve this goal. From a child Adekunle knew the niche he would break into and he moved to a place which would grant him the possibility to learn and grow. While he was successful in business, Adekunle wanted to do more with his talents. He wanted to return home and allow for people in situation he was in to have opportunities without moving thousands of miles. This noble goal should inspire anyone to work hard. Whether for your own sake or for the sake of the less fortunate. Overall, Silas Adekunle is a young man willing to take risks and work hard, for the sake of helping others who do not have the best opportunities.
