Trisha Prabhu

Another young entrepreneurship that I found truly inspiring and innovative is Trisha Prabhu. Trisha is the founder and CEO of the app ReThink. Trisha is from Naperville, Illinois and graduated from Harvard in 2022. She got inspiration for her business at the age of just thirteen and developed a passion to stop cyberbullying after becoming a victim to the attacks herself. This is inspirational because instead of letting the attacks get to her and discourage her into complacency, she took this pain and turned it for something positive to prevent cyberbullying to as many kids as possible through the ReThink app.

ReThink is an app that works as a keyboard for those who have it installed and works on all apps such as social media platforms such as Instagram, as well as text. When someone writes something that is potentially hurtful or damaging to someone, ReThink flags the message and gives the writer a prompt to reconsider their message before sending it. It sounds simple, but research has proven that the use of these alerts results in over a 90 percent success rate in prevention of cyberbullying messages for those who have the app.

Trisha’s technology now has made a large impact on cyberbullying in schools, with the app having reached over 5 million students across 1,500 schools. In addition, the app has reached over 500 thousand downloads worldwide across multiple different languages. Trisha truly shows what it means for an entrepreneur to take a personal pain and use it for good to help ensure that as few students as possible need feel the same trauma she endured.

It seems important that it be a GenZ entrepreneur to solve this problem, since the primary targets of cyberbullying have been that generation. Having a business owner who understands the impact of the issue is so important. I like how she prompts the bully to think about their actions and does not just report them immediately.
