Emma Yang- Timeless
Emma Yang is a gen-z entrepreneur from Hong Kong, China. At age 6 she started programming. She started her journey of becoming an innovative entrepreneur at the young age of12 when her grandmother was sadly diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. At age 13 she became the youngest MIT Solver. She was also named one of 100 change-makers, was a performer at Carnegie Hall 3 times, and is balancing her business with her schooling. Her business “Timeless” was inspired by her grandmother’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. Her grandmother had trouble recognizing people, so Emma skillfully created an app that utilizes AI to help Alzheimer’s patients.
Timeless was built in 2016. Emma combined her previous coding experiences with AI. Her app uses facial recognition to point out family members. It can also remind users about events they need to go to. It is a simple and easy way for people with Alzheimer’s to get the care they need. It was also made simple enough for elderly people to use. This versatile and multi-purpose app is helping so many people.
Although her business is very successful, Emma did have her own share of challenges. Because she started so young, she had trouble finding credibility and being taken seriously. She had to build her platform from basically nothing. Even through the challenges of her youth, she still was recognized for her enormous impact. Even Bill Gates praised her for it. She was able to push past her barrier and show her perseverance. Emma is an influential gen-z entrepreneur because of her determination and her inspiring intellect. Her utilization of her coding skills, and her care for people significantly helped her to build her business into what it has become today. Not only is Timeless successful now, but it will also help to pave the way for new innovations within the field.
