Cookie Empire: The story of Cory Nieves

When most people think of entrepreneurs they most likely envision a forty year old tech starter who came out of poverty by building a viral website. Cory Nieves, in almost every aspect, does not fit this description. While many people find success as an entrepreneur at the age of 30+, Cory began his entrepreneurship journey at the young age of 6. While kids his age were playing video games, Cory looked at his environment and came up with business ideas. One of his first business ideas centered around a problem that his family had-they needed a new car super badly. Instead of fitting into the stereotype of a normal 6 year old, Corry came up with the idea to sell hot chocolate in order to bring in money that could be used to save for the car. The hot chocolate stand was a success, but it further fueled his entrepreneurial interest to branch out and explore other ways to start a business. After the success of the hot chocolate stand, Corry decided to add baked goods, notably cookies, to his list of goods. Soon, word had spread around the neighborhood about the kid who sold hot chocolate and cookies, his business boomed. Eventually, after even more publicity, Corry featured in news stories and further lead to national media coverage. The thing that made Corry so unique, besides his delicious cookies, was his drive for being such a young person. This drive is part of the reason why Corry has had so much success even to this day.
