Logan Guleff: A Prodigious Chef

Logan Guleff is a young chef and entrepreneur who notably claimed first place on MasterChef Junior in 2014. Guleff, a food-loving innovator since age two, has created many recipes and even published a cookbook at age 15, which won the Best in World Gourmand Award; he was the youngest recipient of this prestigious award. Additionally, in 2016 he appeared in Time‘s ’30 Most Influential Teenagers’. Guleff has also created a YouTube channel and a blog, through which he has communicated various cooking techniques and stories with the world.

Logan’s innovative spirit and desire to learn is evident; he once said in an interview, “I learned more in a few weeks of MasterChef Junior than I ever expected—new ingredients, faster techniques, and how to trust my instincts”. He also said, “I cook… boldly by bringing together flavors that no one else can”. These quotes demonstrate Guleff’s innovative spirit and his desire to learn instead of just winning. In fact, “‘There were a lot of failures in my kitchen at home,’ he admitted. ‘But each mistake made me better. I’d figure out what went wrong, fix it, and get that much closer to the dish I had in mind.'” (Logan Guleff- From Kid Cook to Culinary Star — Age Brilliantly).

Today, Guleff continues to foster his passion as a private chef and entrepreneur, running Logan’s Underground Supper Club and creating new culinary endeavors.

Guleff continuously sought to improve his dishes and did not allow failure to discourage him. Entrepreneurs are those who persevere, willingly take risks, and create new solutions. Logan Guleff demonstrated each of these characteristics through his determination to fix mistakes, his win on MasterChef Junior, and his innovation of new recipes.

Awesome! I think that cooking is a great metaphor for the entrepreneurship world. Lots of times the best cooks, like Logan have to try different things and be willing to fail. Also, you need different ingredients like having different members of a team who each add an element to things. Also, I think Logan is going to have to work really hard at thriving at the top after all this success he has already achieved.
