Entrepreneurship Blog #1: Erifili Gounari

Erifili Gounari is a young entrepreneur that launched her marketing and social media business and aged 20. Now 26, Gounari has been featured in many articles such as Forbes, Business Insider, NBC News, and the Wall Street Journal. This is particularly intriguing because she did not have a ton of experience with marketing yet still noticed issues that businesses were having. She began thinking about her idea that would save companies a significant amount of money. She was driven by the fact that Gen Z has the ability to understand the current social media and technology that is now being used. Her model is intriguing because her business is only run by people from Gen Z so that companies have many different young people to rely on keeping them updating with the current trends of Gen Z social media and marketing. With the enhancements of social media usage, this changed the way companies thought an operated. Generation Z has, for the most part, been used to the idea of social media from a very young age unlike past generations.  Since the older generations seem to have some disconnects with social media, it was very innovative to have a team of Gen Z marketers fill in the gaps and help manage the social media of a variety of different companies. Another aspect that is notable about Gounari is that she seems to be well rounded in both education and experiences. She wrote a book called   “Design Your Life: Your Career, Your Way” that gave insight into how to develop a meaningful career path. Overall, Gounari created a business that used generational knowledge gaps to her advantage. The research about her and her business reveals that she insightful, successful, hardworking, innovative, and overall, an intelligent businesswoman that continues to be successful today.
