Brooklyn Speerly – Speerings Boutique

Brooklyn Speerly, the founder of Speerings Boutique, is someone I grew up with, and although I don’t know her personally, I remember her starting her jewelry business while we were still in high school. I think that is what makes her stand out to me the most. Starting a business at such a young age are not thinking seriously about entrepreneurship yet. It takes creativity, confidence, and a lot of effort to put your own work out there for other people to see and buy.

I think Speerings is a good idea because Brooklyn took something she liked and just turned it into a business. We all know jewelry isn’t a new concept or new business idea, but she has been able to make the business her own through the style of the jewelry, pictures, branding and social media. I think this is such a great example of how innovation doesn’t always mean you have to make something completely new. Sometimes it can mean taking an already established idea and finding a way to make it your own.

Through her business, Brooklyn shows creativity, confidence, persistence and hard work. She started with nothing and has built a strong platform and customer base. The fact that she has continued working on Speerings since high school also shows that starting a business takes time and consistency.

Brooklyn has been so inspiring because she is someone who is my age, seeing someone like that start a real business makes entrepreneurship seem more possible. It’s a great example that shows me you don’t have to wait until you’re older or have everything figured out to try and have an idea.

One of the biggest things Brooklyn has taught me is sometimes you just have to start. Your idea doesn’t need to be totally new or perfect. You can just start with something you like, and learn as you go along, and keep improving it over time.

This post was very inspiring! I loved how you noted that you don’t have to have everything figured out to start a business, or even a new thing. This definitely encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, and that hard work over time pays off. I do also think you did a good job of highlighting Brooklyn’s persistence and hard work!

This post was super cool to read! I think that it is amazing that you got to know someone in high school who started her own business. It is great that she continued to business outside of school and that it is getting bigger and bigger. Her story is very inspiring, and it goes to show that if you have enough persistence, you can achieve great things.

I can’t believe Brooklyn started her business while she was still in high school and has stuck with it. I also like your point that entrepreneurship doesn’t always mean creating something completely new, but finding a way to make an existing idea your own.

What struck me the most is the comment that innovation does not mean you always need a new product. You can take something you like and make it your own and succeed. I agree Brooklyn probably did not have everything worked out when she started, but she started. It is inspiring that she started Speerings Boutique in high school.
