Gen Z Entrepreneur – Cor’rae Love

Cor’rae Love is a 14-year-old nail technician and artist from my hometown. She started doing the nails of our teammates at the dance studio after many expressed how beautiful her own nails were, asking where she got them done. Soon, Cor’rae was doing the nails of many of our teammates for events like prom, homecoming, graduation, and weddings. While she started doing nails for free since it was mostly for her friends, she decided that charging would be a smart decision when she started picking up clients outside of the studio. From there, Cor’rae has expanded from just doing the nails of teammates to doing nails for outside clients after many recommendations. I think what makes Cor’rae unique is her age, most notably, as she is a fairly young entrepreneur (a freshman in high school). But, also, I find that her prices are also very unique. What attracts many to her as a nail technician is the low pricing of her sets. While most salons would charge acrylic nails starting at $40 or more, Cor’rae has starting prices of $20; half of what the normal salon charges. While this may lead many to believe that the quality must be worse than a salon’s, I would argue that it is the same if not better than the quality from a nail salon. She is a true artist, and incredibly talented. I think what drives Cor’rae the most is her genuine concern for her friends and clients. You can tell she genuinely wants to make sure they have perfect nails for their event, or for their own pleasure. That aspect inspires me to pursue my artistic interests in ways that benefit those around me.

Great post Presley! I like the fact that she was able to take the business idea of getting paid to paint her friend’s nails and expanded her cliental to outside clients. I also like how you described how she is different than other people in her line of business by describing her care for her clients and genuine want to help other people.
