Taylor Price – Priceless Tay

26-year-old Taylor Price is the founder of Priceless Tay. While the name Priceless Tay was clearly inspired by her name, she says it also refers to understanding that money does not dictate value but rather reflects the worth you already have. With that in mind, Taylor Price’s mission through Priceless Tay is to educate Gen Z on personal finance in an accessible and entertaining format, turning the elusive field of finance into common knowledge.

Personal finance was not the career path Taylor thought she would end up on. After being diagnosed with scoliosis and undergoing corrective surgery, she became fascinated with the idea of becoming a neurosurgeon herself and went to med school. Soon thereafter, she determined med school was not for her. Her mother, who had a degree in finance, suggested she explore personal finance, and so she did.

After taking some classes in finance, she became shocked at how financially illiterate she had been because her high school had no such curriculum available. Understanding this may be an issue to others like her elsewhere, she started a blog to document what she learned, which later expanded across many social media platforms, launching her brand in 2019. It was through social media that her brand Priceless Tay was born. Since then, she has reached over a million followers across multiple social media platforms, been recognized by Fortune for her thought changing innovation, found herself among the top 100 money experts according to GOBankingRates, and is continuing to make headlines as a successful Gen Z Woman entrepreneur.

Other than her social media platforms that contain snippets of financial advice, the Priceless Tay website contains a wealth of information in various formats: One can take a multi-week course, read short blog posts, or prototype with investing through a game that historically replicate’s the stock market’s patterns.

Priceless Tay is revolutionizing the way the ill-informed and financially reserved youth look at money. I look forward to reading her articles myself as I too find myself financially illiterate.

This is a great story. I found it really inspiring how she did not think that personal finance would be the path she would go down, but it would ultimately be her calling. Thank you for sharing this story!

I find it interesting how she switched from med school to finance, showing how we may land on a very different career path than we initially have in mind.
