Jimmy Donaldson- Chasing A Dream

Jimmy, more commonly known as Mr. Beast, was born in Kansas and raised in a quaint home in North Carolina. From a young age Jimmy had a fascination with YouTube and content creation, starting his YouTube career in 2012. However, no one could predict the scale and prosperity of his future.

After gaining some traction with a couple viral hits on YouTube, such as “counting to 100,000” and “watching dance till your dead for 10 hours” which each grossed over a million views, he had a decision to make; drop out of community college or quit YouTube. For Jimmy it was an easy choice, he was all in. He asked himself the question, how can I entertain and inspire people for a living?14 years later Mr Beast is the largest creator in the YouTube space with upwards of 517 million subscribers and over 140 billion lifetime views on YouTube alone. While Jimmy was wildly successful with his YouTube career, he knew there was more. He saw an opportunity to capitalize on his viewership.

Launching in 2022, Jimmy set his sights on an ambitious project, he set out to create a brand of high-quality candy bars. Using his large audience base and strong influence, Jimmy began selling chocolate bars buy the truckload. Feastables grossed a reported 33 million dollars in revenue in its first year and has grown to about 250 million dollars in revenue in 2024. Seeing Jimmie’s success, it’s easy to think that he got off easy, but it’s not to say he didn’t have his fair share of problems, including, flopped products, such as “Mr Beast Burger”, legal allegations, and health issues. Jimmy Donaldson’s story reminds us of how an idea backed by passion, drive, and a good idea is sure to succeed eventually. His persistence and growth are a testament to his love of the game, and his passion.
