Twin Pine Decor

Isaac Shea is a young entrepreneur based out of Southern Maine, who started Twin Pine Decor. The goal of the company is to provide specialized lighting setup to people who do not themselves want to get on their roof and setup lights. Starting with just himself and his car, he has used door to door sales and word of mouth to consistently deliver quality lighting to customers. By providing hassle free setup, takedown, and storage he gains and keep customers year after year by prioritizing a customer focused mindset. Many lighting companies are corporations whose team cares less for customer perception. Isaac sets himself apart in that he does all the work himself, has the customer confirm they like it, and creates personal interactions that care for people beyond making their house look pretty. Isaac has consistently learned skills of marketing and interaction based service while trying to improve the joyful season of Christmas. By targeting a higher income community, Isaac is able to get his footing under him in the business before branching out to locations that would be less profitable. By looking at Isaac we can learn how choosing a good starting market and providing a quality service in a place where there is a real need can provide a great foundation for what could someday be a big business that serves people well.

I love the aspect of a customer driven market. I feel like its easy to lose sight of what really matters, do people really like it? I think by keeping this quality and customer focused, it can help ensure a brighter future for whatever company you start up. Good job! thanks for sharing.
Awesome write-up! I really love how you highlighted Isaacβs strategy of targeting higher-income communities in Southern Maine first. It is a brilliant business move that a lot of young entrepreneurs overlook. By securing strong profit margins early on, he gives Twin Pine Decor a solid financial footing before trying to expand into more competitive or less profitable areas.
It is also really refreshing to see a young business owner focus so heavily on the unglamorous side of the service, like handling the takedown and off-season storage. That all-inclusive bundle completely eliminates the friction for the homeowner, turning a one-time seasonal job into a predictable, recurring subscription model. Like Joshua mentioned in the comments, keeping that hands-on quality control and personal touch is exactly what will protect him against larger, indifferent corporations as he scales up. Great analysis!
I love that despite the great idea that gained a lot of traction, he was still committed to serving the customers in every way possible. We might have a good idea, but we need to value how people really experience our products after they buy them, rather than letting go of those values after the product is purchased.
