Mikaila Ulmer

Mikaila Ulmer founded Me & The Bees when she was 4 years old. She was stung a couple times when she was young and was really scared of bees after that. However, she pushed to overcome her fears and had her first lemonade stand at the Austin Lemonade Day and Acton Children’s Business Fair in Austin, Texas. The business had a lot of positive feedback and decided to partner with the local pizza place using the name BeeSweet Lemonade. After that first order, Whole Foods and other major retailers started buying from them. The business really started to take off, so she went to Shark Tank and made a deal with Daymond John. The business shared the profits with non-profit organizations and in 2016 started their own non-profit organization. After this, they changed their name to Me & The Bees since another company already had their previous name. In 2020, Mikaila wrote a book about her journey and since then, the business has been thriving and had its 15-year anniversary in 2024.
