Optivide

Optivide is a mobile app that allows people to have in in depth understanding of how climate change can affect vital life goals such as saving money for retirement. This is extremely fascinating to me because Danny the founder is tackling a huge problem with something that is not that related to it. The app will allow people to save for the future while being environmentally conscious. This is a very unique start up to me because of how the idea came to be. Danny saw that financial statements were extremely detailed and asked the question why social problems are still unsolved. He shifted his career to more volunteer and hands on work to be a part of fixing social problems and then started optivide. He was inspired to launch this startup, and it will allow people to take simple actions to support a more ecofriendly future.

Something that I took away from this was how he overcame a lack of resources to start his business. He reframed problems as opportunities to learn from them and grow. He has a great attitude that will allow his business to be successful. He explains what it means to work hard towards starting a business and how that leads to success. Dannys work ethic mixed with his willingness to work at social problems are both extremely inspiring to me.
