Luis Dobbelgarte

The thing that is exemplary about Luis Dobbelgarten the German fashion designer is that he actually didn’t go to fashion school or any education for his business. For his age and his positioning from far away from Paris, his road and path to get to where he is now from a status standpoint is incredible. What mostly drives is from his family because his mom, dad, and brother all helped him sell packages, and sew fabric. His idea makes him interesting because his denim and patterning from the jeans is very relevant and flashy compared to regular blue jeans. He demonstrates very entrepreneurial traits because he went from printing t-shirts to making his way up selling t-shirts and sneakers to getting a very expensive screen-printing machine to make his first real products. He is innovating by changing the dynamic of straight jeans to bell the bottom and then adding extra padding with rugged denim patches. They inspire me because he basically came from nothing and then sold everything to take a massive risk getting a high-tech printer in order to now sell designer clothing to famous people like Lil Tecca and Drake. I have learned that you don’t have to start big and have a lot of money – you can make your way up by standing out and selling small and then once you know you can drop bigger and better products.

Luis’ path of innovation is a great example of seeing an existing path in a new and unique way. His success stemmed from a truly unique idea fulfilling a need that hadn’t been previously realized. Thanks for sharing his story!
